About

Deb is a licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the states of Arizona and
Washington. She is dually board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
(PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). She received an associate degree in nursing
from University of Hawaii (Maui College), a bachelors in chemistry and molecular biology from
University of Colorado, a Ph.D. in organic chemistry and a postdoctoral research fellowship in
biochemistry/chemistry from the University of Washington, her Master of Art degree in
spiritual/transpersonal psychology from University of Santa Monica and her Master of Science in
Nursing from Northern Arizona University. She is currently completing a Doctor of Nursing
Practice (DNP) at Northern Arizona University.

Her approach to patient care is highly client centered (Rogerian). She believes that heart-
centered listening is one of the most important skills a provider can offer, and that the key best
practice in psychiatry involves meeting each individual where they stand, offering options that

span the spectrum of traditional approaches to integrative and complimentary methods, and then
collaboratively creating a treatment plan.

Deb has trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), breathwork (holotropic, rebirthing and Shamangelic), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, Family Systems
Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS with Richard Schwartz), Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Kirtan Leadership, Mindful Self Compassion (MSC with Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer), Rogerian Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solutions Focused Therapy (SFT), Sound Healing (including crystal bowls), trauma work (with Bessel Van Der Kolk), yoga therapy, MDMA- assisted psychotherapy with MAPS, and psychedelic harm reduction with the
Zendo Project and Fluence. She is certified in hypnotherapy (Hypnosis Institute), rebirthing (Shamangelic), and as a yoga teacher (RYT200), a personal trainer (CPT, American Council on Exercise), a Renewing Life Facilitator (Pathways) and a Psychedelic Assisted Therapist with California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), Integrative Psychiatric Institute (IPI), and Synthesis. She is a specialist in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy with trainings and certification from CIIS and IPI. She has worked in community health, breast care, oncology, and had her own integrative functional medicine practice.

Education
Deb received her Ph.D. and completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at the
University of Washington. She ran biotechnology companies in Seattle for more

than a dozen years that included work with psychedelics, the invention of
diagnostic tests and devices, and the development of Cialis. In 1995, Deb was
disabled in a major trauma/accident that led her to shift her focus and develop her
expertise in mind-body medicine and trauma recovery over the course of the past
three decades.
