About
Tamara received her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Valparaiso University. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Western Michigan University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona. Tamara has over 20 years of experience in the mental health field.
Tamara begins with a narrative approach to the counseling process, which allows an understanding of the uniqueness of each person and their issues. She then is able to identify and integrate sophisticated therapeutic techniques such as, EMDR, CBT, IFS, ACT etc. to offer a highly personalized and tailored approach to therapy for each person. Her patients find that she is an active listener, compassionate, warm and understanding as well as knowledgeable, collaborative, solution focused, and able to suggest creative and practical solutions.
Tamara’s areas of expertise are trauma, depression, anxiety, mood management, grief, addiction and life changes. She enjoys working with individuals, couples, family and in group settings
